Having graduated from UCC in 1991 Eamonn went on to complete the Cork Vocational Training Scheme in General Practice and is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners. He started working in General Practice in Ballincollig in 1999 and was one of the founding partners of Ovens-Ballincollig Medical Group. Ballincollig Castle is a Norman castle to the south of the town of Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland built after the Norman invasion of Ireland. In its prime, the castle was inhabited by the Barrett family, who had control of the local area. The castle still stands today, albeit largely in ruin. The original keep still remains, as does most of the curtain wall and two towers.
